Programming Languages to limited

I consider several languages to be my main language, and many more to be my second programming language, I would like to express this on my profile

Hi Chris,

first of all, warmly welcome to Contractor Deck! :)

This is a very good point you made, I have received such feedback personally from another contractor as well.

While working on planning of this project I realised that it would make much more sense for contractors to target themselves for one (two max) programming languages. Most of the time contract requirements are to be extremely proficient on one programming language/technology and secondary programming language sometimes comes as a "good to have".

Therefore I decided to enable developers choose up to maximum two target programming languages. Their Github accounts will reveal more extensive information about developer capabilities and programming interests.

Lets test it how it works for employers, if they resonate with us that such information is sufficient to them, then we are happy too (and by saying "us" I mean "us, developers") :).
I see your point, but as a language agnostic full stack developer I stand by the need to say which languageS I consider primary, and which ones I can 'probably write on a good day' - I mean secondary :)
I'd hate for an employer to miss my CV because they filtered down to the language they think they need and that happens to not be I set as my one and only primary.
Maybe that's not how it works? If not, maybe that could be made more clear.

Hey again Chris,

I would still like to stick to to primary/secondary programming language combo. I understand what you say, but at least from what I've seen in the market contractors are focusing in one, sometimes several languages but that is it.
In my honest opinion, it's very hard to be an expert in many professional areas, to be good at - is another thing.

Your suggestion to make Programming language section clearer is completely valid, therefore I will add a popover that will explain reasoning behind such decision a bit more in depth.

Thank you yet again for such amazing feedback!

It's been a while :). So far, it seems having limited targeted programming languages inside the system is working really well. I'm closing this ticket.
